Indialogue is an action and research-oriented dialogue and peace foundation, was founded in New Delhi in 2005, the imagination and fortune of a group of Turkish and Indian people inpired by Mevlana Jalal-ad-Din Rumi, to promote and to encourage local, national, international, intercivilizational, intercultural, interfaith, intercommunal and interethnic dialogue; Love, tolerance, understanding, reconciliation, harmony, co-existence, tranquility and peace; to courage intellectuals and scholars and to provide opportunities for a comprehensive and deliberate thinking, brain-storming on humankind-related topics and issues; proactive studies and activities on the causes of wars and violent conflicts, develop tools for early recognition of tensions, and formulate conflict mitigation and peace-building strategies.

In regard to INDIALOGUE’s Deed and the various programmes and resolutions adopted by the Executive Board since the establishment of the Organization, the promotion of dialogue in the service of peace – in order to build “peace in the minds, hearts and lives of Humankind” – is clearly one of the main themes of INDIALOGUE’s mission. Globalization and the emergence of new contemporary challenges and threats to humankind make the need for dialogue among peoples and communities ever more topical. A principal objective of a dialogue is to bridge the gap in knowledge about other civilizations, cultures and societies, to lay the organizations for dialogue based on universally shared values and to undertake concrete activities, inspired and driven by dialogue, especially in the areas of education, cultural diversity and heritage, the sciences and communication and media.

The Indialogue, in the certainty proclaims in its vision “Love, Understanding and Tolerance, the source and fountain of dialogue, Indialogue envisions a life-in-dialogue for all peoples of other living faiths in respect, trust and love for one another and moving together towards a common experience of reconciliation, harmony, solidarity, justice and peace.”

Mission

“As adherents and devotees of love, tolerance, dialogue and peace, we, the members of The Indialogue, commit ourselves; * To live the essence of our faiths and truths, and bear witness to the common values accepted by humankind. * To be in dialogue with all people, regardless of culture and faith, promoting a Culture of Dialogue and Peace with particular emphasis on spiritual common values; and * To be in solidarity with all peoples in the upliftment of the less privileged in order to build a progressive, just, humane, ecologically and peacifully sound society.”

Goal

  • To live and promote the Culture of Dialogue, Path to Peace
  • The goal of dialogue among civilizations, cultures, faiths is simply to form, live and promote "Common Values" among mankind, such as love, respect, tolerance, forgiveness, mercy, human rights, justice, peace, brotherhood, and freedom, which are accepted by all humankind, regardless of cultures, faiths, creeds, ethnicities.
  • The foundation has 4 chapters accross India, in Chennai, Huderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.
