Description 

Indialogue Foundation and COVA (Confederation of Voluntary Associations) are pleased to announce Essay Contest on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi and looking forward for submissions by school, intermediate, undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing their education in Andhra Pradesh. The objectives of this contest are to bestow spirit of peace and responsibility, skills of writing and critical thinking, 

ESSAY TOPICS FOR SCHOOLS:
-The relevance of Gandhian Principles in our contemporary day. 
-The significance of trustworthiness in our social life.
-The moral responsibility of humankind to the earth.

ESSAY TOPICS FOR COLLEGES:
-Whether true altruism and unconditional love is possible for human beings.
-What do we value most in this life and what constitutes true wealth?
-The ways modernity has changed the concept of “Loving your neighbor”.

CONTEST RULES
-The length of essay is required to be between 500 and 2000 words. 
-Essay submission will start on 5th September 2009 and end on 17th October 2009.
-All submissions will be accepted through email: hyderabad@indialogue.in. 
-Please mention “Essay Contest 2009” in the subject, and also attach your bio-data.
-Winners will be announced on 31st October 2009, at Indialogue Foundation and COVA websites: www.indialogue.in and www.covanetwork.org.
-The manuscripts should be original and written by writer. 

EVALUATION CRITERIA
-All submitted Essays will be evaluated using the following criteria: Quality of analysis and accuracy of data (30 points), Innovation & Creativity (20 points), relevance to the contest theme (20 points), writing style and structure (30 points).
