As per news and statements by the Police and the media, we were deeply shocked by the terrorist attacks (bomb blasts) unfortunately struck Jaipur on Tuesday (13rd May, 2008) when at least 50 to 60 people have died while over 200 have been injured. Terrorists set off the powerful bomb blasts at crowded markets in Jaipur in a span of 20 minutes.
A senior police officer said that the blasts were of high intensity. The bombs were reported to have been planted on cycles. Four of the blasts took place within a radius of one kilometer.
Blasts were aimed to create "terror" and “horror” and to disturb social peace, communal harmony and peaceful co-existence in India and in Jaipur, in particular.
We strongly condemn these and all terrorist or any violent attacks which referred to religion, ideology, race, community etc. the hatred and disregard for life and law implicit on them. Those responsible must be brought to justice.
There is no justification for the murder of innocents and we express our ''deepest sympathies'' to the Indian Government, State Government of Rajasthan and all people of India. Terror has no religion.
We call on all citizens to maintain peace and harmony and work to frustrate all attempts to disturb social peace.
INDIALOGUE -on behalf of board members, members, supporters, volunteers - expresses its deep condolences to the people and the families of the victims and prays for the rapid recovery of those injured by this horrific crime. Our deepest prayers are with those affected by this tragic event.
We pray for a speedy recovery of all injured people.
